Physical Engineer from the Universidad Iberoamericana (1983), Master (1984) and Doctor (April 1985) in Sciences (Physics) from the Faculty of Sciences of the U.N.A.M. Postdoctoral stay, through the scholarship granted by the prestigious IBM Thomas J. Watson, Research Center, in New York.
He obtained the Award from the Academy of Scientific Research (now, the Mexican Academy of Sciences), the “El Registro” Award, the “Condumex” Award, the Organization of American States Award, and the “Paul Coremans” Award from the National Institute of Anthropology. and History, “Ignacio de Loyola” Medal, honorable mention of the “León Bialik” Award.
He has also stood out as: Senior Researcher C at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Subject professor at different institutions, including the same National Autonomous University of Mexico (Faculties of Chemistry, Sciences, Engineering and Dentistry), the Autonomous University of Querétaro (Faculties of Engineering, Medicine and Psychology) , the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (Faculty of Physical-Mathematical Sciences), the Ibero-American University and the Technological Institute of Querétaro.
Elected Member of the Georgia Academy of Sciences.
Member of the 3 most prestigious Academies in the country: the Mexican Academy of Sciences, the Mexican Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico. Coordinator of the Multidisciplinary Program in Health and the Multidisciplinary Program in Competitiveness and Innovation at the Academia de Ingeniería A.C.
Renowned expert in the theory of transmission electron microscopy imaging. Pioneer in the theory of the formation of holograms with electrons and in the efficient use of carbon nanotubes to reinforce materials and his work on nanofunctionalization.
Associate Editor of many prestigious journals, including: Materials Letters, International Journal of Polymeric Materials, Polymer, Journal of Materials Education, Dentum, Nanostructured Materials, International Conferences on Polymer Characterization, Materials Research Innovations, among others.
